As part of the International celebration of 125 years of the Boys' Brigade

The Grimsby & District Battalion operated

an Amateur Radio Station with the support of

Grimsby Cleethorpes and District Scout Fellowship


Grimsby Amateur Radio Society 

(who's loan of an FT1000MP and 20ft Trailer Mast)

were greatly appreciated

over the weekend of

Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th October 2008 

we contacted a total of 25 radio Hams from as far away as Melbourne in Australia

over 130 young boys attended the event trying their hands at such things as Glass engraving, Glass painting, as well as sign language, amateur radio, fast scan and slow scan TV and also making flashing badges
